Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Architect, maintain, and support technology infrastructure with focus on security, performance, and availability
- Provide expertise in network, server, storage, and PC support
- Collaborate with Technology team to resolve system issues and incidents
- Assist end-users with problem reports and inquiries, delivering superior customer service
Primary Functions:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise compute, storage, active directory, backup, and NetApp systems
- Research and recommend complex solutions to improve system availability, performance, and stability
- Ensure adherence to defined standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for financial institutions
- Prioritize efforts, maintain project plans, and meet response service level agreements
- Evaluate technologies and vendors to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Monitor and support systems, addressing performance issues and managing centralized monitoring
- Create and maintain configuration diagrams, installation scripts, and documentation
- Analyze and resolve escalated Level 3 issues using superior troubleshooting skills
- Lead and participate in multiple projects, controlling deliverables and expectations
- Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing sessions
- Collaborate with vendors, customers, and consultants for integration of new products/systems/devices
- Perform other assigned duties
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8-10 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required
- At least 8 years of experience in highly available enterprise systems, including compute, storage, and backup components
Skills:
- Windows server installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting (virtual and physical)
- Advanced proficiency in VMWare design, installation, configuration, and administration (ESX and VDI)
- Knowledge of EMC storage technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft technologies and servers, including AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Exchange, and System Center management suite
- Cisco networking and Unified Communications Platform expertise (routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP, MPLS, SIP)
- Familiarity with Cisco UCS platform
- Expertise in SAN solutions, preferably NetApp
